Acceptable Use Policy

This Policy describes activity that is not permitted when using COUNSIVA services, portals, APIs or related systems.

Use the platform lawfully

Users must not use COUNSIVA to violate applicable law, infringe rights, facilitate fraud, misrepresent identity, or process data they are not authorized to handle.

Protect credentials and access boundaries

Users must not share credentials, bypass role or tenant restrictions, impersonate other users, probe another customer's environment, or attempt to gain access beyond the scope assigned to them.

Do not attack or disrupt the service

Prohibited activity includes malware, denial-of-service attempts, automated abuse, vulnerability exploitation, destructive testing against production, unauthorized scanning, scraping that degrades service, or attempts to interfere with security controls.

Handle confidential information responsibly

Student, parent, partner, staff, finance and application data must only be uploaded, viewed, exported and shared for legitimate authorized purposes. Users must not expose confidential records through public links or unauthorized external channels.

Respect platform integrity

Users must not reverse engineer, resell, sublicense, clone, or create unauthorized derivative services from COUNSIVA except where expressly permitted by written agreement or applicable law.

Automation and AI

Automated and AI-assisted functionality must not be used to make unlawful, deceptive or harmful decisions. Staff remain responsible for reviewing outputs and applying professional judgment where decisions affect students, applications, finance, immigration or regulatory matters.

Enforcement

COUNSIVA may investigate suspected abuse and may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect customers, data, infrastructure, legal compliance or service availability. Serious violations may also be reported where legally required.

Reporting concerns

Security or misuse concerns should be reported through the official contact channel published on counsiva.com. Do not include unnecessary confidential data in an initial report.
